Hernia Mesh Lawsuit

Hernias are a painful but common problem for adults that are typically treated with a simple surgical procedure. However, one type of hernia mesh, Ethicon’s Physiomesh, was proven to have a higher failure rate, resulting in complications and added pain. The law firm of James F. Humphreys & Associates, L.C. believes your hernia should be treated with one, not multiple surgeries.

Physiomesh

The typical procedure for a hernia involves adding a mesh device to the weak spot of the abdomen to prevent abdominal contents from poking through the abdominal wall. The hernia, and resulting surgery, are painful with significant recovery time. When hernia mesh fails, it can cause pain, infection, swelling and obstruction. These complications can lead to the need for additional surgeries. After two studies showed that Ethicon Physiomesh failed more often than other hernia mesh, Ethicon recalled Physiomesh from the market.

At James F. Humphreys & Associates, L.C., we know you should only have to go through hernia surgery once. If your hernia mesh has failed, contact us for a free consultation.
